2012 Conventions
Cheshire Cat
[info]ishaway
I have started looking ahead to conventions I would like to try and attend in 2012.
I would like to attend FurAffinity United again, such a fun small con.
I also think I will try dealing again at Anthro Con this upcoming year. Attending this up coming year will be my fifth year attending, fifth year in the art show, and fourth year selling my artistic wears.

I will have to work this all around school and other life things.

FA:U Badge pre orders & AC Double Sided Badge pre orders
Cheshire Cat
[info]ishaway
[b]This post has been crossed posted if not in whole or in part on FA:U LJ community, FA:U forums, AC LJ community, and AC on-site forums[/b]

I am officially open for FA:U Badge commissions, badges specifically.
I do not have a table in the dealer's room there, but I can do badges, and maybe sketches, to be delivered at the con.

If you are interested please comment to claim a slot. :3
Be aware I am still very in school thus turn around might be kinda slow, but the semester is almost over, and badges are highly portable!
Sketches also will be easy to complete before the con!

I am going to offer three kinds for pre-order. Once I am done with those, given time I may open up for more. Please comment to claim a slot!

These badges come laminated and with clip! The tiny portrait badges are about 2x2 while the others are standard 4x3/4x5.

Sketches are done on 9x12 Bristol board with graphite and are $15!

Payment can be made via Paypal.

Due to time I am not taking any double sided badge pre-orders for FA:U, [b]BUT [/b]I am going to open up two (2) standard slots for Anthro Con.
If you are interested in one of these slots they start at $50. Please note me with your details and I will decide from there. Due to size and the process I use these badges take awhile and tend to be larger (4x6+).
I am also opening three (3) Chibi or mini doubled sided slots for AC pre-orders!
Chibi are $35, Mini are $25.
Chibi are simplified forms and shapes, normally no cloths like Bugs Bunny, and around 3x4. Chibi are 2x3 or so.

Please note these might be the only double sided badges I am doing this year in prep for a convention.

Again please comment to claim! Or if you have any questions~!

But after tea, shower, then off to bed.

Anthro con Report 2010
Cheshire Cat
[info]ishaway
Well back from AC
Got home Monday night, which was fine
AC royally rocked. I met a bunch of awesome people and hung with friends from past years.

Drove up with Jet, all 8 hours of it. It was good, we met no traffic so it was smooth sailing right into AC. The really perfect way to begin any trip.

AC itself was made of pure fuzzy-win. There was art, ponies, more art, running around, art-jams, doodles, and to many other awesome things to try and remember 83
I roomed with AnimeAmy and Pony/L-Train and Rhean at the Courtyard. They have the most amazing beds everrr which at a con is a great thing because it allows for you to quickly drop into a deep sleep.

I sold some things in the art show, but a fair percentage of it came home with me so you might be seeing them listed on Furbuy.
I did the Artist Alley Saturday and Sunday, both days went well.
In the Alley we sat next to Gishkishenh on Sunday. She is awesome btw, go look at her art! She does amazing Northwestern aboriginal art, and she hosted a lovely panel at AC.

I went to a couple of panels, like, 3 the whole convention. most of my time was spent in the Dealer's Area spending my money, or in Artists Alley trying to make some. If not there, then I was in the Zoo chilling and drawing with friends. ECMajor, Sigil, Bazeel, you all were awesome. Thanks for letting Jet and I tag along to dinner Thursday night, it was great.

It was great seeing Huskie666 again, along with everyone else i hang with.
Thank you too the wonderful artists in the Den who took a look at my work and agreed to give me critiques.

Thank you also to the Con Staff; you all do an amazing job and I am glad you continue to put up with our fuzzy hides and help make Anthro Con a seamless event for those of us who attend.

I would like to thank everyone who stopped by in the Alley even if it was just in passing. I look forward to seeing everyone next year!

Life
inner beauty
[info]ishaway
Well life is going well. School has been out for a couple of weeks and I am going back for summer classes on Monday. I am looking forward to the summer semester as a chance to get back out of the house; but I have been making good use of my time off.
During the short break between Spring and Summer semesters I have been focusing on finishing art for Anthro Con 2010. As a result I have finished 11 pieces of art in about 2 weeks for that show. I have also caught up on commissions. I am working on one badge and a colored commission otherwise the commission list is blank.

I am thinking of keeping my normal commissions closed until August. I am going to be taking pre-orders for Anthro Con pick up stuff but after the convention I think I will be staying closed. Unless I get some offer that is just too great to say no too.

I am feeling much better too due to an exercise routine I have begun with Amber and ijil. Doing an actual workout three times a week has been fantastic. I can already feel a change in the way my body feels; it is not that 'alive and vitalized' stuff everyone spouts it is more... I can feel that I am stronger. My thighs have been killing me all week; quad workouts suckkkkk. It makes it hard to move and takes away the want to move all together.
But I do love that feeling all the same.

Mmm 11:28 is a great time of night to be online and doing NOTHING.
Thus I am messing around on Blogger and setting up an art blog. I am not sure how this will go, but let us keep our fingers crossed that I will actually keep it up. I am thinking of trying to keep up once a week posts with some studies or something of that nature.

And with that note I feel a want to flit to something else, thus I shall meander off now; like a happy fat little pony seeking the sweetest clovers.

Scratch Board
Cheshire Cat
[info]ishaway
Well just finished two scratch boards, one that has been sitting unfinished for awhile, and I hope I havent messed it up, and the second of my cat Fel, which I did while watching the movie UP. Took abut half the movie, but I am really happy with it. Still might edit it a bit but I will have them both scanned and posted soon.
Both were done at 5"x7" and I got to thinking.
I have an 11"x14" scratch board which has just kind of been sitting beside my drafting table. I am not sure what I want to do on it, but I think I might try to pick a subject and finish it in time for Anthro Con.
The idea I had to put on it is a Saber-toothed cat. Not necessarily Smilodon californicus but more than likely another Smilodon.
I am curious if anyone had a particular kind of Similodon or saber-toothed cat they would suggest?
Or something completely different! I am thinking a prehistoric creature/beast/critter of some kind could be very fun to do and at the scale I am thinking it could become very unique.
If anyone has any suggestions I am very interested in hearing them.

on a side note, it has been an ungodly long time since I have posted here.

Coloring Book - DONE
Empowered
[info]ishaway
Well it is 100% official.
I have a printer, images are there, I have purchased paper which will be at the printer's on Monday, then I will have made 25 of my coloring books. I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to take them with me to Anthro Con, but if not I am sure I will have an prototype with me, along with an ordering form for anyone who is interested.

I am asking $15 a book.
There are 33 black and white images of unicorns, dragons and other fantasy creatures in each one. They are professionally printed and saddle bound, and the whole thing when finished will be the 8.5"x11" standard coloring book size.

With this first run I am signing each book and numbering each one; X of 25. This first run is a limited edition!

I am posting this now so that people who aren’t attending or want to ensure that they can get a copy at Anthro Con can let me know and payment and such can be handled in low stress manor.

7 copies are already spoken for by family and friends I know locally, but the remaining 18 are all looking for homes.

If you would like a copy but are not attending Anthro Con shipping will be added to your final total.
Cost for shipping will vary by location.

Please know, I am not going to be shipping them out before Anthro Con, so if you order it now but are not attending it will be on it's way to you once I get back after the 6th of July.

Here are some samples of the images that are in the Coloring Book:
